Dan Aubin - Director
Dan is a communication lecturer, speaker, and facilitator who works across multiple sectors to help organisations bring important ideas to life. Through his company, Daring Humans, he works in communication, collaboration, strategy, and wellness. The aim is always to create engagement, clarity, and connection.
He holds degrees in Communication, English, and Drama and has worked as a full-time lecturer/researcher at Charles Sturt University winning a faculty award for excellence and innovation.
Dan has a background in elite gymnastics, acting, stunts, circus, and physical theatre which fuels his embodied approach to presenting and teaching.
His experience ranges from designing corporate leadership programs to stunt doubling Mark Wahlberg; performing in NBA Stadiums to coaching communication skills. He continues to practice as a handstand acrobat and share his passion for risk and balance through keynote presentations and business consulting work.
Dan is also someone who has had to find and re-find balance in his life in quite dramatic ways. In his keynotes, he shares stories and tools that empower strength, awareness and resilience.
His diverse experience in education, performance, business, and health, have given him a unique perspective as someone who helps others develop high-performance cultures and consider what it is to be a ‘daring human’.
Dan is originally from Toronto, Canada. Fifteen years ago, he chased a lovely girl to Adelaide and now has two amazing kids and lives on the coast in South Australia (with the same girl).
Peta Johnston
Peta is a true force in the worlds of arts, education, business, and community. With over 25 years of experience, Peta has excelled in various roles including performance and direction, education, creative producing, festival management, and community cultural development. She's a versatile expert in the creative industries who has recently left a Senior Management Position to join Daring Humans full time.
Peta started her journey by earning a B.A (Dance) degree from Adelaide University. Since then, she has collaborated with independent dance artists and companies in Australia and Canada, bringing mesmerizing works to major arts festivals all while running her own business. She has orchestrated large-scale arts events, successfully managed diverse arts and community cultural development projects played a crucial role in building strategic partnerships, securing funding and delivering impactful cultural outcomes.
Peta is also a skilled facilitator, presenter, and educator. Whether it's workshops, seminars, or training programs, Peta's knowledge, and insights fuel personal and professional growth. She backs this up with an Education degree from the University of South Australia. Peta excels at fostering genuine connections, creating supportive environments for teams to thrive, and inspiring individuals to reach their potential. In her ‘spare time’, Peta has also taught yoga and mindfulness in schools, community settings and private studios for over 10 years.
Peta is a mentor and coach, dedicated to helping people unlock and navigate their leadership journeys. Her coaching approach is rooted in authenticity, collaboration, and a deep understanding of human dynamics.
